Родина Роланда Дискейна, которого часто так и называли Роланд из Гилеада.
Из книг эпопеи про родину Роланда известно следующее: Столица – Гилеад, находилась в феоде Нью-Ханаан. Кинг неоднократно употребляет слово Гилеад в качестве названия феода, поэтому стоит предположить, что слово Гилеад являлось в мире Стрелка нарицательным для столицы и феода, в котором она находилась.
Феод Гилеад находился в западных землях Срединного мира. На севере феода находилось озеро Сарони. Расстояние от Гилеада до Западного моря было чуть более тысячи миль. Официальным названием страны видимо следует считать «Великое Королевство Западной Земли», так как на одной из карт, упоминаемой Роландом и изображавшей Гилеад, значилось такое название. Гилеад (Нью-Ханаан) объединял вокруг себя большинство феодов в единое союзное государство – Альянс.
